Shimano SLX XT bait casting reel?

Anyone have one?  I have a chance to buy a new unused one for $100 and the MSRP is $129.  Gear ratio 6:3:1.

It reminds of a Bantam Lite. It's a great value reel. In that gear ratio, I would use it for my chatterbait and spinnerbait setup.

I have one, its good so with that deal go for it

Highly recommend, hard to find right now.

I have 2 in 7.2.  After 2 years they're holding up well.  Frame is easy to palm.  Use mine for mowing baits and treble hook baits.  6 speed should work well.  I'd go for it.

If I need a new reel right at this moment, I would buy SLX XT in a heartbeat. This from real experience after using more expensive ones from Daiwa and Shimano along side my SLX. This is best bang for bucks reel. The casting distance is great, size is very comfortable to palm and I don’t have to worry too much when on kayak or float tube.

That’s a good price, esp considering Shimano is allegedly raising prices across the board tomorrow.

Every Shimano SLX reel I have fished have been great reels in their price ranges.  They all fish above their price range as far as I am concerned.

I’ve given this reel paired with a St Croix Mojo spinnerbait rod about 2 months of work and it is a fantastic combo. The handles are big and grippy. So glad I bought this reel in March. I haven’t caught anything super big on it yet but that test is certainly coming.

I just had one in for cleaning that had been used hard pike fishing. It’s well built and holding up to heavy duty. A good value in baitcaster reels.

Just got used good one myself from our flemarket. After a good cleaning, bearings flushed the reel is very smooth. I don’t know what to use with it yet but my plan is to keep it as spares or use it when I’m in kayak/float tube. I was gonna get Tatula TW80 but with 12lb Copolymer, line capacity gonna be cumbersome.
