the question is?: Can I pay this reel with my Shimano rod 7gr to 25gr?

I don't own it but have been eyeing a jdm version.  25g seems like it's pushing it, but at the same time I'm thinking of getting it for a M jerkbait rod which would be the same thing.  So I understand your dilemma and interested to hear what others know.

I’ve used a 31HG for the last year and it handles the heavier baits fine. I wouldn’t throw a frog with it but I’ve muscled a good sized catfish with it after the stupid thing ate a Shakeyhead. 
 

I use mine for topwaters, jerks, and some bottom contact like small T rigs and Shakeyheads. It doesn’t bind up or feel weak even with the aluminum gearing and small handle.
