My catch in the pond yesterday evening

Featured Replies

Not too many fish but they were great size. It's really cool to catch peacock bass in the same hole you catch largemouth. It may be my imagination, but peacock bass seem more aggressive than largemouth..? Oh, my foot is 10.5" by the way for scale lol ?

Nice catch’s.  I’m sure you already know that peacocks and Oscars (also in your waters) are African Cichlids which might explain their difference in action.  One of my bucket list trips is to go to the Amazon on a Peacock excursion.

Oh yeah, I know the last fish I caught in the pictures is a Mayan cichlid, but I had no idea that peacock bass are actually a cichlid! Thanks for telling me

Peacocks are not African, though they are cichlids, what folks refer to as peacock bass are actually 3 different species. Oh, and LMB are sunfish...
