Just curious if anyone has first hand experience with this reel? My local shop is having there big sale and I was looking for a reel, all reels across the board are no tax but the 13 fishing line has been marked down considerably.

 

The best deal is on that concept z reel. Regular price was close to $500, and he is blowing them out for $250. I feel like he just has way too much stock on them and no one's buying them. But at the discounted price I am tempted but can't find much about em. They are pretty hideous looking IMO.

I have the original Concept Z and it hasn't given me any trouble. I have no experience with the SLD version the gray and orange one. 

The current Z is $275 regular price at TW. I’m not sure the discount is as deep as you believe. Either way, in general the 13 reels are good quality but typically priced higher than others with equal features. On sale they’re not a bad value.

Yea I'm in Canada mate, prices are always higher here. But you are right they seem to be more in the $400 price range from competitors. So my hunch was probably correct, I think he's just trying to make it seem like a crazy deal when it's more of just a deal type of situation. 

The price does sound steep...even for Canada.  I have several Z's, and I feel they lived up to the hype regarding casting distance.  Tackle Tour has reviewed the original (orange reel) and the current version.  Both versions were well received.  During the review of the OG, they put it up against the Curado K in a casting contest, and the Z was going 18ft further.
