Uneven Line Spooling

Featured Replies

Hey guys. See the attached photo. I see this happening almost all the fine when I put on new line. I would say this contributes to some of my bird nesting as well.

any thoughts on his I can more evenly spool line?D71EAB74-A9A8-439C-BEBB-EC2658077A40.thumb.jpeg.5fed01755643e6fde93564b7384f8015.jpeg

1: How heavy a braid are you using on that spinning reel?

 - Personally, 20# is as high as I go - even on the MH/F spinning rig

2: Are you keeping the braid under tension as you spool it up?

 - Yes, even more tension than you'd use for Nylon or FC.

The reel should have come with a few thin plastic washers that fit on the main shaft under the spool. Add one, pull off as much line as possible and re-spool. If line stacked the other way you would remove a washer.

Right , but I take issues with the unbalanced graphic. Drag washers don’t affect spool hight or line lay. Reeling against the drag creates line twist though.
