Lower French Broad

Featured Replies

Good luck man!! I fished Douglas last weekend and the boat traffic was stupid then, as was my boater. I don’t see a lot of boats on the Holston below S. Holston lake but maybe that’s out of your range to travel? Speaking of Cherokee it was way low, @TnRiver46 do you know the skinny on why it’s still way down???

Lack of rain, won’t make it to normal summer level this year

Ironically Douglas and fort loudoun were spilling flood gates today, I guess that tells you which part of the state was getting the most precip

Anyone ever caught muskies in the French Broad? I think it's weird they're that far south.

They are upstream of Douglas on the French. I haven’t caught them but people get them somewhat regularly around Asheville NC. I’ve also seen pictures where people caught them in Douglas , but never below Douglas dam

@JoePhish, how’d the tourney go?

I decided to fish Ish Creek. Turned out to be Dink Creek. Finished in the middle of the pack.

Guy who won floated the Holston. He caught a bunch of big Smallies.

The guy who won  big fish caught 23+ inch LM that was over 10 lbs. Not sure where he fished.
A bunch of guys did well fishing Chick.

I was a nice day on the water and for a good charitable cause. Got some good swag, door prizes and parting gifts.

Laketards did really disturb me too much. There was one offshore spot I like that had a boat on it all day though.

Also saw a Bald Eagle which always makes me smile.

Cool deal! There’s some eagles that live at forks of the river, you can see them every day. I would think a 23” bass would just about have to be from chick but you never know I guess. Was josh sharp in it? He loves the Holston

Josh won the raffle for a new Hobie Outback.

I figured with as much rain as we had going into the weekend it would rise, wish it had been full pool two weeks ago ha
