Bladed jig tuning (Fogy)

Featured Replies

I have a Fogy that doesn't want to cooperate.  Normally these have hard thump with an erratic action but one of mine is not thumping throughout the entite retrieve and will go silent on me as often as it is vibrating.  I'm not fishing it too fast or too slow because I have 4 more of them and know how they work.  These have a bigger blade and split ring on them compared to a normal chatterbait.  What's the thing to tune here?  Blade bending?  Downsize split rings?

Is there any paint in the eyelet keeping it from moving or binding?  Thats the only thing I can think it could be.

Either the split ring has been stretched, and it's catching on the hook eye or blade and/or the hole on the blade is too small. Easy fix.

WHAT. Fishing from shore is the exact same as fishing from a boat. Everybody knows this.
