Bubba Pro Series Cordless Knife

Featured Replies

Does anyone use one of the Bubba Pro series fillet knives? I recently picked one up, and it seems like a great knife, but it’s painstakingly slow. My $18 black and decker corded knife I’ve had for 10 years zips through a fish 2-3 times as fast. When you get to 2-2.5lb fish, it really seems to slow up.

I reached out to Bubba and they weren’t much help. They just have me a generic answer “we do not know the specific RPM of the Pro knife, but it’s 20% more powerful!!” ?‍♂️

Did I get a lemon? Or are they just a good bit slower than a corded knife?

Can't help you with that one, but my cordless Rapala is king (price has gone up 30% since I bought mine) - charge lasts forever (literally for months of neglect), and it glides through redfish ribs.

Also great warranty service.

@AmmoGuy it's this one

I went for big, needed the longest blades.

Since you can likely get by with shorter blades, the motor and lithium battery are probably the same, and that will bring the price down a bit.

Do you have the R12?

If I swapped it for a Rapala, it would be the newer R12 HD.  Just wish I could compare them in person.

I like this Bubba, but the blades just oscillate too slow, and they are way too

coarse.

I don’t think you like it then. ?

No you didn’t get a lemon. They’re all “20% more powerful”.

You’re right.
A more accurate statement would be I like the idea of it.

It’s just hard to believe it’s “supposed” to cut this slow.

No experience with the cordless, but my corded Bubba is awesome. I can burn through a pile of crappie or white bass in a hurry.

Yea, I have two cheap corded knives. They’ll both get after it.

Small brushless motors are so good these days I figured this cordless would be a monster. After all, it’s “20% more powerful!!!”.

Not the case.
