I've got a few of the older version (full cork grips) in BC and spinning, they are ok middle of the road rods.

I fish an older Clarus 7 ft spinner, cira 2006 or 2007 just guessing.

Either way it's my Favorite topwater rod by a wide margin.  It M action, with just the right feel.  Use it for jerkbaits too.

In fact rather than retire it,  a couple of winters ago I re-did the guide train.  Good as new.

I also have an older molder Clarus spinning. Have literally caught 2,000+ bass on it - love it. I tried finding more, but couldn't get any of the older model in the length/action/power I wanted - so I bought one of the newer versions, but haven’t fished it yet. A great ‘bang for the buck’ rod IMO.

You guys have & like the same old stick !

So it's not just me, it really is a special little blank.

Nothing made now can compare.

Either way, thanks for sharing.

I had one from 2003 IIRC. Fished it both in the salt and fresh for years. Great rod for the $$.
