Good Morning All,

 

I have been a long fan of the St. Croix AVC70MHF as my go to casting rod for pretty much all applications. It is a little heavier action than most Medium Heavy rods that I have tried. Unfortunately, finding one anymore has become almost impossible. However, there seems to be plenty of the St. Croix AVS70MHF spinning rods available. Does anybody know if the spinning blanks are the same as the casting blanks?

The Avid spinning mh blank is a touch lighter power rated 3/8-3/4. 

As an aside all the avid casting rods were discontinued last year except for the trek travel casting rod.

Thank you for the replies. The Avid series rods have been the best bang for the buck IMHO for the last 10 years or so. Bummer that they discontinued them.

I saw some posts on IG of a leaked new Avid spinning rod I believe yesterday.  No idea when it will be released though.

I hope this is actually the Avid Bass line, but I wonder if they aren't actually the new Avid Walleyes...I think discontinuing Avid was a huge mistake.

If you go to ST Croix's retired rod section you can still get a 7'  Avid MHXF or a 7' Avid X MHF casting rod for $175

The Avid walleye rods do look nice and the legend was updated too in walleye. I'll probably grab one.
