  1. Lethal Weapon was always my go to. I can't stand most swim jigs with tuna hooks in them.
  2. This is actually incredibly helpful! I'm a kayak guy but tired of drowning in gear. Would you go M spinning or ML?
  3. What would you be throwing on the medium? Where I fish in KS I can't really justify a H in my head either. I'm in the process of downsizing my gear so trying to "think like a beginner" lol.
  4. @Joedodge what 1/8 oz spinnerbaits are you planning on using?
  5. I’m torn between an 834 and the 844…I want the most versatility as I don’t like to take more than three rods on my kayak, and one is reserved for a 1/16 ned jig. @JohnFromLisbon what didn’t you like about throwing the spinnerbait on it, just not enough power? I’ve never fished an MBR rod, I’d be looking to do mostly 3/8 oz skirted baits….light wire swim jigs/spinnerbaits/chatterbaits/buzzbaits/finesse jigs. Occasionally go up to 1/2 oz, but also occasionally throw light Texas rigs, 4” stick baits, etc. No treble baits. maybe the 844 is the one, the power designations are just throwing me off, haha.
  6. how do you like those updated Avids? Can't find many reviews online about them since the re-fresh.
  7. This whole thing doesn’t surprise me at all. I had ordered a used rod that I ended up cancelling before it shipped. I paid with PayPal, and from experience it is easy to give and get refunded with PayPal. It took nearly two weeks and countless emails to finally get refunded for a rod that never shipped. An employee mistakenly CC’d me on an email chain and called me names and a “pain in the *** customer.” So, they were definitely having issues.
  8. St. Croix makes a bunch of two piece rods in the Triumph and new revamped Premier line.
  9. Have always wanted to check out a GCX just to get an MBR but the negative comments have always scared me off. Never understood what could be so bad about them.
  10. Lethal Weapon is my favorite, I can’t stand most swim jigs with tuna hooks in them.
  11. this is like the exact opposite of what I want in a rod lol. when I saw the thread title, I was worried they had ditched the cork.
  12. Wonder what the difference is between the HD series and the EVO besides where they’re Sold.
  13. I just saw a video on The Hook Up Tackle's youtube where Teckel is about to producing a 6'9" frog rod.
  14. It's only St. Croix. Mojos were nice rods before the bizarre gimmick.
  15. is this the travel rod? What line do you like to use?
  16. I don't know how serious you are about doing this, but man it sounds awesome. I've been thinking of doing something similar to be honest....I have too much clutter on the water and in my head haha.
  17. Jweller replied to you's topic in Fishing Tackle
Sadly I don’t think I’ll ever buy another St. Croix.
  18. Didn't Rapala acquire 13 Fishing recently? I love the Terminator Pro's jig, and sent Rapala an email asking if it was being phased out since I noticed it was on sale everywhere like you did. No response back from them.
  19. Handle looks like a spaceship. 😕
  20. I miss shorter rods. Was really sad that the refreshed Avid line from St. Croix didn't have anything less than 7' in casting.
  21. I've been wanting to try one. Didn't care for the Victory models.
  22. this is definitely my choice. Love the hook size on these, can't stand the giant tuna hooks most jigs come with.
  23. I've always wanted to try Falcon but was bummed to read a little of their history and learn about their move overseas. So I've stuck with St. Croix. I prefer shorter rods and so maybe soon I'll try a Head Turner...
