Moving baits…nrx vs imx pro vs poison adrena

Featured Replies

Hey, looking to get a rod for throwing a variety of moving baits (swim jig, chatterbait, topwater...) and have heard the 844c mbr is a great rod...so curious if anyone has ever compared the nrx with the imx pro? I realize the glx is in between the two...so I guess we could throw that one in as well. I have several nrx rods but they are all JWR. I have heard amazing things about the nrx+ 844 and have no doubt it would be amazing; but, I just purchased my first imx pro ( 906c) and have been really impressed! So what I'm wondering...is the NRX worth double the price of an IMX pro when using it for moving baits? I'm not one to go somewhere with just one rod and switch multiple baits...when I go fishing I like to have specific rods already setup with specific techniques so that I can keep my line in the water as much as possible, since I usually don't have a great amount of time to fish. That being said...if the nrx is that much better than the IMX...then I could see using it as the rod to tie on a specific bait that I don't have already tied on.... So, I'm open to suggestions... would you go with one NRX for moving baits or maybe two imx pros (or poison adrenas)? I'm always looking for an excuse to get an nrx but just don't know if it's overkill. Has anyone compared these?

I have imx-pro cbr's (864/903) and several nrx's.  Glx reel seat wasn't right for my hand.  The 844 is an mbr and has a little tip action, but it is stout enough that I wouldn't use it for chatterbaits.   843 mbr can do chatterbaits and swim jigs up to 1/2oz, and heavier topwaters like a spook.  IMX-pro would work fine, but with christmas sales coming...you may look for a deal on an nrx for that added feel.

Thanks! I’m starting to wonder if anyone had the NRX+ 844c ha. I have yet to see anyone say they have it.

Unless you just have money burning a hole in your pocket, I wouldn’t spend $500+ on a moving bait rod.  IMO, there are much better choices than NRX for moving baits at a much better price.  I own a lot of NRX rods, have owned Conquests in the past, but have never owed a Poison Adrena.
