Hey everyone,

 

I have not tuned in for a while, had a lot of major things going on in life the last several months. Hope everyone is doing well. I decided to join the DC reel club to see what all the fuss is about lol and purchased the exsence. Does anyone have experience with this reel? What are your thoughts?

I had one but sold it to a friend to replace his antare dc which he didn't like because it showed finger prints. The matte finish on the exsence dc solved that problem. It was a great reel & and is heavily discounted right now because the 2022 model is out. Being saltwater safe is a good thing even if you only use it for fresh water. Have you seen this description?

Yes thanks, I know the specs of the reel but just wanted to know what people thought if it in terms of use in the field. If the reel seemed worth the price and if anyone had any issues with it 

Exsense is Curado DC with add clicking drag (exciting drag sound). Shimano claim to tune something different than Curado DC but I’m not sure.

No issues and yes it is worth the price. I don't think it is in the same class as the curado dc as it priced basically the same as Antare DC and is described as a modified

Antare DC which is top of the line. There is no USDM equivalent for the exsence.  As a side note the buddy I sold mine to is an excellent reel tuner and really knows his stuff, a true JDM junky. It is his favorite reel.

Oh ok, see I already own the curado 200k in a standard baitcaster lol so I thought it would be silly to get it in DC version.  I thought to myself, if I'm going to get a DC reel, get an interesting model that you don't have. Yeah im a Shimano fan myself, all my reels are by shimano and most rods ?

I think he is talking about exsense dc ss, cheaper version of an exsense.

Your correct my mistake. The above model is described as a brother to the curado dc.
