Is there anything to hold the weight in place for SURE besides tape?

I know bobber stoppers but I'm mainly looking for something to make sure it doesn't hit my guides causing damage

Hook in hook keeper and wrap your line around your rod a few times.

Would a rod sleeve work for something like that?

As mentioned put the hook on a keeper, snug up the loose line without bending the rod tip then hold the line in the middle of the rod and spin the a few turn wrapping the line around the. Make sure the weight is between your guides.

Rod sleeve protects all your guides.

PS, Drop Shot wraps will hold the weight tight to the rod.
