Old Town AutoPilot and i-Pilot Link

Featured Replies

I am looking at getting the Old Town Sportsman AutoPilot .  Planning for a Humminbird Helix 7 (not final on that yet - was looking at it for the i-Pilot Link).

One of the items I thought the AutoPilot could do is connect to the GPS Fishfinder to plot a course on the fishfinder navigation, then that controls the motor / route.

I looked everyone, couldn't actually find any information on it.  Seems the AutoPilot only has i-Pilot (using the remote), not i-Pilot Link (using the GPS navigation on the fish finder).

Does anyone know if there is a way to get i-Pilot Link on the AutoPilot?

I had i pilot on my MK Ulterra and had it converted.  It cost $800.

There is not a way to convert it or add it. That’s a regular question on the autopilot Facebook group and no one has done it.

don’t let that stop you from getting the AP or the helix. I have that same combo with a g3 msi helix. It’s a fishing machine.

I have a Helix 7 DI SI on my kayak and I love it.

If you can afford the Helix 7 MSI I highly recommend it to side image and find good structure. I have this on my Autopilot and it worked great for me last year. I was able to find some isolated rock piles that a lot of other boats never really seemed to find and/or fish. We'd all beat the bank for the easy fish, but when that bite stopped, I could always go a little off shore and pick apart the rocks and find more quality fish.

Thanks everyone for your responses.  Now, the  i-Pilot Link would be nice, but I think I could live without it.
