Anyone been keeping up with this kayak? Thinking it will be my second, river dedicated kayak. At the pricepoint (1650~) it seems to have some pretty darn cool features. Looks like it would make a nice throw-and-go boat too. 

I'm really unimpressed with the lack of a low seating position.  A river boat should have the ability to give you a low center of gravity, and the RVR119 does not.  I'm not a fan of the dugout canoe styled hull, but the battery recess for a Torqueedo is cool.  The anchor line chutes are cool.  The max speed it got with an 1103 was great.

 

I just can't get past zero internal storage and a single seating position at 1,650.

Been following it and I'm not overly impressed either.  I've had my SS127 for several years and LOVE it, but the RVR just doesn't make me want to jump in the truck and go buy one.  I run an 1103AC which mounts to the stock holes on my boat, the RVR requires an additional adapter plate.  Like Hook2Jaw said, there isn't any internal storage either, and I like a clean deck.  Will see, I'll have to go paddle one to be sure.

update: I had the brands mixed up, perception was the one I paddled. It’s a behemoth 

 

 

at first blush.  I like it. 

 

for a river boat I dont want any inside storage.  water gets in there.  no kayak is watertight, so no big hatches is a good thing for me.

 

I havent seen any deep dives, but only what it might look like.  I would love to fish smallies on the Umpqua river and a kayak like this would be fantastic.  hard maybe, but my wife would kill kill me.

I ain't no big fella... but I can tell you when your kayak rigged is upwards of 150.... 80lbs looks real light.

I wish I knew which one I paddled, it was a barge 

Not sure this is allowed but I'd check out Jeff Little, also know as The Little Stuff on Youtube. He's done a couple videos on this rig and he's a big river guy. I'm not but I do chasing smallies.

 

For some other high quality throwable kayaks, I'd check out the Native Watercraft Falcon, Crescent Kayaks Shoalie or Litetackle, and if you're looking to mount a Micro power pole or a Torqueedo/Newport Sports NK 180/300, have a look at Oneobjectivebf.com

I toss mine(SS127) in the bed of my truck all the time, its a great boat even in river current.  With a proper paddling technique I can get 3-4mph out of it.  It is a bear in the wind, but most kayaks are.  The addition of a motor has changed all that, however. 

I think it looks pretty cool. If you paddle moving water with drops and rifts. There may not be many other river boats. Jackson has one at least but i like the yupik. I would want space for camping gear and float trips and prefer the seat to really be able to move back and forth.

So I saw the boat I was talking about here on Sunday, was not a bonafide haha. It was a perception and it’s even bigger than I recall

check out Nucanoe, almost all of their kayaks are completely open concept

This is my 17th year in a kayak for bass fishing. Ive owned Jackson, Ocean Kayak, Old town, Wilderness, native and bonafide.

I really like the ss127 but the Rvr does not impress me.

In fact the SS is a good boat, but not great.

Bonafide has taken over the market by marketing, and having alot of product on hand for fast shipping but in the end I feel they are not as much R/D based as they let on.

Their competitors just arent making enough boats.

The RVR is another case of them making a boat that lacks many things needed that they are advertised for.

So hard pass for me.
