We started out with seven open gates. No luck immediately upstream from the TVA

ramp. The wind was howling so we motored across the river. My partner was fishing

a minnow, I rigged up a Siebert jig/ Rage Tail Craw.  I hooked up on my second cast with

a 4lb green bass. We kept at it for eight hours and I never had another bite!

My partner, David  Thorpe, caught our only smallmouth:

First fish of the year. Fortunately it was a 3.0 lb SM!

I've moved to Tennessee from Florence, Alabama.  And have fished the tailrace Below Wilson dam a lot.  I've yet to fish below Pickwick dam, but I have caught some fish near Clifton.  It's pricey keeping 2 fishing licenses, but worth it to me.
