Is it typical/normal for the Expride nut/reel seat not to lock down all the way flush?

Featured Replies

Sorry, I'm a Dobyns guy who just got an Expride and a Zodias. I have this Expride paired with an SLX XT and went "huh" when I barely had to twist the nut to lock the reel in, and left it at that. Last night I noticed that there's a huge gap/crater as if the reel barely fits. Is this normal for the rod?

I have 5 model A’s and all of them tighten snug with no discernible gap. My reels are both shimano and diawa. I think you have a reason to send it back.

I took the reel off and tightened it all the way and it has that gap. I think it must be normal.

I think I don’t understand. What gap are we looking at? @ironbjorn

Mine look the same as @Bass Rutten
