Hi everyone im new around here and have watched from the sidelines for a little and decided its time to jump in.

So here is my question. Do you think cleaning your boat has any effect on catching fish? Let me explain myself a little better. Is it possible residue from marine cleaning products could have an adverse effect on your fishing?  Can these cleaners come off in the water and potentially cause fish to steer clear of you? Maybe I'm over thinking things here, but I'm curious on what your take is?

I don't think it could have any effect.  Unless maybe you armor alled the heck out of your steering wheel right before going to the lake.  Then you drive the boat and in handling baits transfert the armor all to the baits.  But even that is a real stretch.

I do hate it when my boat is a mess though.  I think I fish more efficiently when it is neat and organized.

I suspect that all marine products that used for cleaning and protecting must meet EPA standards regarding pollution.

As for repelling fish, I wouldn't give it a second thought.  Here's why.  There is a significant number of boats running around, "leaching" these products into the waterways. 

Where would the fish run?  Or where would you go to find "untainted" water?

You may be on to something, who knows?  I doubt it's the slightest problem.  I never gave it a thought 'til you mentioned it, so kudos to you for bringing it up.

I know its probably a bit far fetched but I'm not gonna lie, I have thought about it while cleaning up the boat. haha

All marine products give off a semi toxic residue that can hinder your fish catching abilities.  EXCEPT for BTS

Just kidding......  however, get yourself a bottle and you wont even have to clean your boat as often.

Rhino is that a LaBASSdor Retriever in the background?    Looks like he helped you corral a nice one!  How did you train him to do that?    ;D

Yes it is, and no I didn't train him.  Our daughter did.

This is a tiny pond, maybe three acres behind her house.  The lab is Allie, and she's a nuisance.  If she's out and about, she always swims out to the boat.  If I want to fish, I have to drag her aboard.  Then she shakes and gives me a shower. 

I have to tell her to stay, or she'll try to retrieve my bait when it hits the water.  I had hooked the fish when my daughter let the dogs our for a run.  Allie saw me and made for the boat.

Lucky I got it in before she got to the boat.

Hi guys.....newbie here on this board, but I think you guys may have stumbled on a new product to develop. How 'boat a new boat wash that ATTRACTS fish? Like using deer urine in the woods.......hmmmm, we need a chemist to figure this one out.....but I see a big payday for the one that does! People will buy ANYTHING in this country!! (who remembers Pet Rocks?)

I always throw a mixture of 2:10 of jj's magic and 5:10 salt into my boat soap or wax that I'm using...

Been there done that, spilled JJs on the bottom of my non-skid deck boat and my catch ratio has gone up. Must be the JJs!
