Bobber stop question

Featured Replies

When you guys peg your weight do you leave a little bit room between the bobber stop and weight or you push the bobber stop right up against the weight so it cannot move at all?

It depends on where I'm throwing the lure. In heavy cover/veg etc I'll push everything together to try and keep the line between the weight and the hook from wrapping around stuff. In more open areas I'll give it some space and add a glass bead

Punching or twitching through heavy weeds - jam that sucker down tight.

When punching as tight as I can get it.
Depending on the weight and cover sometimes I use 2.

I use bobber stops and a beed for a little clicking sound.......yes leave a little bit of room.

I'm only 1/8 oz weight though and a finesse worm, basically a mojo rig.

The old tooth pick trick deforms the line too much especially when using mono.

A bobber stop or the rubber peg stopper is easier and much more effective.

The advantage of the peg stopper is that it allows you to peg a weight anywhere you choose on the line.
You can do the same with a bobber stop but you have to place one on both ends of the weight to hold it in place.

Or FC - and that deformation weakens the line...so stay away from using toothpicks to peg weights.

Tight as I can get with a bobber stop. Gave up on tooth picks long time ago.

I keep a toothpick in my mouth......better than floss.
