PINNACLE VISION SLYDER reel

Featured Replies

I was wondering if this reel can be used for weed edges also is the wheel bar really better the daiwa megaforce plus twitching bar ?

if i can get some comments please from all of you even the pinnacle company too. All i just wondering should i pay the megaforce plus for $99 or pinnacle vision at my walmart for $53 i am going to use it forweed edges and finesse fishing ??? :-/ so confusing

Prior to joining Pinnacle, I worked for Daiwa.  I can tell you that both the Slyder and Megaforce are fine finesse-fishing reels.  Both are great for slowly working plastic worms or creature baits slowly along weedlines or over bottom structure. And, both reels also offer a high-speed retrieve option for working faster "reaction" baits.  Personally, I find the Slyder's "Finesse Wheel" easier to use than the "bar."  I think the motion is more natural, and it seems to allow for greater precision/control.  It's also great for picking up slack line.  I'd give the Slyder the edge on performance and value.

thanks alot Pinnacle1 you answer my question right on the spot and that the answer i was wait for on this forum , both reels were on my mind and alot of people on here were putting these down but i am so glad that u answer my question right on the spot . also good luck at the new company ;D

One other thing Pinnacle1  what kind of rod should i use with this reel MH or H

i am looking for a rod that would work lure that range 3/8oz - 1 1/4 oz ?

I bought one the other day and it is ok.  It is smooth and casts great.  I bought it for flipping and pitching baits into thick cover and wanted a high speed reel to drag them out of the cover.  The only problem that I have with it is that the wheel does not spin easily when there is weight on the other end.  The other problem is that you have to really turn the reel hard to get the reel to reel after casting.  Once the casting button comes up it is smooth.

All in all it is a great little reel.  I am going to have it super tuned in a month or so to see if I can get everything smoothed out a little bit.  I think that having to have one tuned a little bit when it is new is acceptable since the reel is so cheap to begin with.  After I have it tuned and lubed it will have cost me about $80 and it will be as smooth as a $120 reel (in my opinion).  Hopes that this helps.

And yes, the wheel is a lot better to use than the Daiwa.  The twitchin' bar is just awkward to use, the wheel is right where my thumb sits when I am fishing, so it works out great.

The idea behind it is great.  The only problem is that everything on it is plastic.  Not even well molded plastic.  The slider wheel is warped on every one I picked up.  The rubber on it doesn't fit, and if they made one that looked worth a crap, heck, I'd jump right on that.

Considering, the reel is in its first conception, you have to give this company credit.  I mean, sure, it is a little cheesy, as far as parts go, but they are trying to keep us happy!  lol  I would like to see a special edition slyder, with better parts!  come on pinnacle, hook it up!  ;)
