St. Croix uses SG components (reel seat) and guides on both their Victory and Bass X lines. 

 

Loomis uses SG guides on their GCX line (but still uses Fuji reel seats)

 

if you look on Social media the Bass X rods from St. Croix are falling apart at the reel seat and so are some Victory models.

 

Facebook and reddit is full of posts.  

 

do you think manufactures will go back to using Fuji components? 

 

I'm at the point now seeing all this that I don't want to buy a rod that doesn't have Fuji components anymore. 

 

 

If the reel seat is coming loose from the blank, it's not a Seaguide problem, it's an assembly process problem.  If the seat is coming apart then it's a seat problem.  Who could know what the manufacturers' plans are except the manufacturers, so you might contact them.

I stopped buying st croix because of this. Sea guide rod guides are fine but their reel seats are awful. If I’m buying a $100+ rod I’m expecting a Fuji reel seat

I'm going to have to stop reading this forum.  I dreamed last night that I had a reel seat come apart which resulted in a disastrous episode dealing with many yards of heavy braid hanging over a road and tangling with passing cars.  JEEZ!!

Victory line of rods use Concept Fuji O ring guides and Fuji KDPS and VSS

and they don't fall apart.

Havent had an experience with SGs reel seats, but I found their guides to be pretty good and theyre 20-30% cheaper then a comparable Fuji Ti guide.  I like that SG offers colors, which isnt a big deal, but they look pretty good on a custom rod.  SGs double foot SS Hero guides perform well, but they are on the weighty side.  If you spend a little more for Ti guides you can shave at least an oz off the total weight of the rod, depending on length.   

Although its improved since it first opened, SC is still having QC and manufacturing issues with some of the lines out of the Fresnillo, Mexico location, which I think is the real issue.  Right now the biggest problem SC is having is that an extremely high % of the SC3 Inshore Mojo blanks were breaking and the replacements they sent out were breaking as well.
