Daiwa Steez CT SV TW 70 Uses

Featured Replies

I was curious as to what the best uses for this reel are. I’ve been using it for a little while now, but I’m not necessarily sure what techniques it’s really MEANT for. Of course, the shallower spool will have something to do with it. The description on Daiwa’s site, and some other places, vs people’s personal experiences have confused me. Can it handle heavier applications or is it meant only for lighter/finesse applications? I own this, a zillion, and the new SS Air TW, so this will decide whether or not I keep this reel. Otherwise I plan to sell it and use it to buy a spinning for dropshot/free rig, etc…

Thank you all in advance, any information is appreciated.

It's meant to be a finessier baitcaster. I prob wouldn't put it on anything more than a M power rod (up to 5/8 or so). It would be great for weightless senkos, small paddletails, jerkbaits, finesse jigs/t-rigs, etc

I have four of them. I consider them to best the best skipping reel built. Mainly, I skip with mine but will also those 1/2 ounce spinnerbaits and chatterbaits. I will also pitch 1/2 ounce or less on it. Switching to. 100mm paddle handle opened the reels power up. I wouldn’t want to throw something greater than a total package of 3/4 on it though.  Great reel

I use mine for almost BFS stuff. I like to throw a 6in roboworm and a 1/16oz skakey head,  small creature baits, small paddletail swimbaits,  and light jerkbaits. Great all around reel though.
