Super User Chris at Tech Posted October 27, 2006 Super User Share Posted October 27, 2006 Does anyone know where I can get my hands on a spare spool for a Curado 101D? It's nice for those time to be able to throw a spool with braid on there... Thanks Chris
Super User flechero Posted October 27, 2006 Super User Share Posted October 27, 2006 Any of the service shops like ReelMech's should be able to order them. I'd try him first... If no luck with him, call southwestern parts and service on Mockingbird Ln in Dallas. They are a major service center that also sells parts. Global Moderator roadwarrior Posted October 27, 2006 Global Moderator Share Posted October 27, 2006 Try Shimano direct. They occasionally have a return that they replace rather than repair. You might be able to get one for free. If you e-mail customer service tell them about all the Shimano equipment you use, how dedicated you are to the brand and all the sweet stuff you can think of or if that's not your style, just give them a call. If you can't get it for free, I'm sure they will be able to sell you one or tell who to call.
Guest DavidGreen
Chris at Tech, Just contacted Shimano®. I would like, and so would they, to know where you got a CU101D. That reel according to them is the new CU100D version not due out until 1/25/07. I want one.. Either way the part number for the spool is (BNT3557) the MSRP is $44.99+ shipping, and right now Shimano® is the only one that is carrying them. Hope this helps. Tight Lines!!! Guest DavidGreen
Chris at Tech, I don't know, I contacted Shimano® that is from the horses mouth. I know I can't get schematics for it yet. I have seen them posted at BPS, Tackle Warehouse, and all over eBay. So I don't know if the guy in the service dept., is right or not about it being released or not, (could be just the 101D)... But if your wanting another the spool for it that is the part# call Shimano for it, and at that price they sure are proud of them.... Tight Lines!! Super User Chris at Tech Posted October 28, 2006 Author Super User Share Posted October 28, 2006 It's rather curious that the guy in the Shimano service department doesn't think they're out yet when the Curado 101D is available at BPS, Cabelas, and many Mom and Pop bait shops (like where I got mine). Looks like someone missed the memo. You may want to call back and ask for a schematic from someone who knows what's going on And yes, at $45, this spare spool must be made out of freakin' diamonds
Guest DavidGreen
Chris at Tech, Could you check the schematic from the box (if you still have it) and see if the part number, that, that fool at Shimano gave me is the right number...After being told they aren't available until Jan., I'm starting to wonder about the part number. If it isn't let me know and I will make sure that Shimano considers making some changes in the service dept. Thanks... Tight Lines!!!
