Favorite color, Gudebrod or Fish Hawk Garnet, beautiful on bare carbon blanks and I use a 3 turn gold or silver trim, me personally, I  prefer the silver. Fish Hawk really tried hard to match the Gudebrod colors and they even used the same numbers and names to describe the threads. Not brand conscious as long as the thread doesn't have the "fuzzies". Have had good results with Rice, National, Gudebrod, Fish Hawk, Fuji, Pro Wrap, and Sulky embroidery thread metallics that have so much more color selection and the foil is incorporated so much better in the thread because it has to go through the needle, etc. on the machines at high speeds.

Using mostly ProWrap size B.

I seem to use a lot of 510 Sage or 513 Guacamole with metallic silver, gold, or lime green for trim.

My favorite thread now is Fuji Ultra Poly.  I like its sheen and how it wraps.  I have two favorites, candy apple with gold metallic and black trims, and dark green with gold metallic and black trims.  Orange inlays/trims look good with the dark green also.   I only  use size A.  I have never had a flaw in a spool of Fuji.

They are just introducing a whole new group of colors, including some prismatic metallics, so you are sure to find what you want there.  Here is the best depiction of their colors I could find.  https://www.therodroom.com/shop/pc/Ultra-Poly-c212.htm

Gudebrod size a as standard for me. I love garnet. I think there was another similar dark red I can’t remember the name on. Both are great on a lot of rod blank colors. The dark emerald is a nice one also though a little more limited.

For 40 years my colors were orange with white trim bands but in the past 5 years I've gotten out of that rut and am using black for platinum color blanks, green and violet for black blanks.  Using size A for freshwater rods.

I like ProWrap Fusion Variegated in black/gray on my personal rods when I want something to look good and custom without spending a ton of time on it.

If I'm getting fancy, hitena aurora black is such a fun metallic!!!
