Owner flashy swimmer blades

Featured Replies

Anyone know good ways to clean the hammered blades? These two pictured below have some rust on them. I actually use toothpaste to clean most of my normal spinner blades and willow/colorado blade underspins with it but for some reason these aren't getting the rust out of them. Thanks.

You could probably try vinegar and baking soda.

Try some silver polish, Brasso, Duraglit, rubbing compound or jewelers rouge? CLR, Tri sodium phospate (TSP) or Tarnx? I'd wear rubber gloves with any of the last four.

Scrub with Tinfoil and Cola.

Not joking.

Though I'd probably try a plain old SOS pad first.

I tried an sos pad and it got rid of the rust, by i noticed now the blades are a slight bronze color. Anyway to get them silver again?

The issue isn’t rust, it’s the copper under strike showing through the bright nickel plating. Buffing will only make it worse by removing more plating.

Rinse in 1 part white vinegar to 1 part warm water. Try rubbing  with aluminum foil to brighten what  nickel remains.
