Okuma V system

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Any of you have tried the Okuma V system spinning reel?

I saw a review on tackletour recenlty. Any additional info and feedback would be muchly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

JT

I have not tried one but I hear they are pretty good, some of the better guides around the area  are using the for inshore saltwater  duty. Hope this helps.

My wife will be using one (V-20) through the fall and winter on her drop shot rod that she just got last week. Several of the striper guides on Norfork around here swear by them plus I paid $89 for the $149 reel. I fell into a sweet deal for a Daiwa Certate for myself at $202 so I'll stick with it. ;)

I have 2 of the V-40's. They are super smooth. They also have a 5 year warranty. You will not go wrong by owning one.

Hello Jacktrevally. First off, I'm not much of a baitcasting kind of guy..... But I needed something I could put a lot of micro-braided line on, and fight big Sturgeon for possibly a VERY long time (like maybe 6 hours on one fish) without introducing twists in my line. So, I have been using an Okuma V-200, and having a great time :-) I've only managed a 47.6 lb'er on it so far, but even that took 40 minutes of chasing / battling :-) Yeeehaaa ! .......and going to be out there chasing those dino-fish, with this same gear tomorrow ! :-)

Thanks for all the feedback lads. I was thinking of going to a V-30 for the bigger stuff for fishing in for carps.

I ordered a V-80, I will be using it for offshore fishing. I received many positive review on the reel and the drag is awsome.

Hopefully it should be in the following week.
