This may be a silly question but how do you read a sketch board?   see attached picture.  I don’t understand why the numbers at the top of the board don’t line up with the numbers in the middle.  Thoughts?

First thing you must do, is close the fishes mouth. You are correct though, the numbers don’t appear to line up. I’d get another tape measure to verify which numbers on the board (if either) are right.

Weird.  It appears to be 1/2 inch off on the top compared to the middle.

 

 

They line up fine on mine.  Its the angle of your picture.

Optical illusion? Probably just the angle of the shot. Try looking or shooting strait down and they should line up.
