I mentioned this earlier in this thread, but again, if you are looking for a pure mono you need to give Maxima a try.

I use Trilene XL on my bait casters and Stren original on my Spinning rods. I've tried a lot of lines at one time or the other and always went back to these two.

I'm using Big Game as my mono right now,but XL is probably the best overall mono.I'm using Yo-Zuri 20 lb as my pitching/flipping line and it's the best thing I've used for my particular situations.I use Berkley Vanish for all of my spinning reel finese rigs.It does well on my drop shot and split shot rigs.I also use it as a leader on Carolina rigs.Sorry about getting off the original question.XL is some fine mono,but where I fish Big Game is a more logical line for me at this time.

AllI use is Berkley Big Game and Berkley XL.

I have learned that mono haz its place and Braid haz its place. You can use all mono but you CAN NOT USE ALL BRAID. It will cause you to lose fish. For froggin in heavy cover/grass I recomend 50+lb Power Pro braid but for spinner baits I do not. Power Pro is the only Braid I will use. as far as mono or co-polymer I will only use HI-SEAS LINE. Your rod set up plays a big part in this. If you are using a broom handle for a flippin stick (be carefull) when you set the hook with braid, something has to give ether the rod or the line will break on BIG fish. Study knots for braid!!!

I recommend that you check out HI-Seas Line They have anything that an angler would need. and not a lot of fresh water anglers know about their products. They Kick butt. That is all I use.

Another thing, The hook set better be lighter with braid. If it is not, just wait till your next cast with it. It takes some time to get use to.

Jinkai, or Toray line were awesome for me, but they are expensive and sometimes difficult to find. P-Line, Mustad Thor, Sufix siege are very good as well.Pick a line you can buy locally to save you the trouble, most lines are pretty good, or they're not going to be on the market for very long.
