The cheapest is probably going to be from Harbor Freight.

How many jigs do you plan to powder coat?

I used make up about 100 jigs annually and painted the lead head with Testors Enamel model paint. The enamel doesn’t chip, doesn’t get into the hook eye and available in 100’s of colors. The small bottle will cover more then a 100 jigs per color.

Powder painting blades adds weight and they are hard to paint correctly. For painted blades I will start with white or black blades from Barlow's, JannsNetcraft, etc. then paint over them with my airbrush. For clear I have been using KBS clear in the rattle can. Whatever you use will chip in time after making contact with rocks. To paint and clear the blades I stick them on a tool magnet from Harbor Freight. You paint and clear one side at a time and the magnet will hold them in place well,

Brass or tin blades are non-magnetic, needs to be a Ferris metal.

I peeped the paint at harbor freight, decided I need to wait until the timing is great. Especially for blades and the added weight, I can see the testors being worth a take - would a rattle can be a mistake for buzz and spinner blades?

I'm gonna play with devcon and mica on the jigs/heads and skip painting entirely, go straight to the top coat since it would need it anyway.

No idea how many I'll need to do bro, it's mostly for me and my buddy for now so... but I might dip my toe in trying to sustain my addiction though. Market is saturated much to my woe, but if you never try you'll never know

Your choice.... the bass don’t care what the jig head looks like they are focused on the #1 the trailer,#2 the skirts movements an colors.

Go to the Dollar Tree and pick up a couple of bottles of nail polish. I like it way better than model paint and the bottles come with a built in brush. It cures faster than model paint as well.

The only issue with nail polish is it’s harder then the lead it’s applied onto and chips easily.

You can use mica powder but youd have to mix it with epoxy or clear powder paint.  Some of the colors are really great I use the Jacquard Pearl Ex kits that you can buy 12 colors in a pack and when Michaels has a 50% off coupon you'll save some.  Personally I mix it in clear powder paint.

i agree with this. if you don’t want to mess around with powder coating jigs or blades.  testers enamel model paint is a very viable solution.  it’s probably the easiest way to paint blades.  12-13 years ago i made a lot of red and silver inline french blades with testers red paint, masking tape, and a cheap convection oven to cure the paint. after cutting the enamel it’s rock hard.

Whatever the pre-painted blades are made of they stick to the magnet. My guess is that they are steel?
