@FrnkNsteen - took me awhile to remember the initials of the inventor of the Stubcaster - EMM.

The grandson picked them up again, and then sold the company.

@A kid from Canada - in the '60s, ads like that in Popular Mechanics likely sold as much fishing tackle as Herters catalog.

Into the '70s, Cabelas catalog only sold lure-making and rod-building supplies, and was the sole importer for DAM Quick reels.

I wouldn't call mine a collection,

Are you like me, or do you actually collect reels?

Older thread, but I was able to login today for the first time in months thanks to the help of a couple members.  I buy.  Don't sell.  Used to rotate reels, but 1) have too many now 2) have a few favorites that I prefer to use, and 3) seldom get out as I can't leave my wife alone thanks to severe Alzheimer's and dementia with Lewy bodies.

Although I have a few reels that haven't been used yet, I only have one that so far has been treated as a collectable.  A red Limited Edition Tatula.  Beautiful looking reel that I hesitate to put line on.
