Best keitech easy shiner jighead

Featured Replies

What’s the best 1/8oz jighead for 4” easy shiner? The ones I’ve used either had too big of a hook or too small.

thanks

Dirty jigs guppy heads

Nishine smelt heads

Keitech super round jig head

Outkast tackle goldeneye

Eyestrike Trout Eye. They also have a "finesse" Trout Eye with a 1/0 that I like a lot. But is really more suited for 3" or less paddletails

Which one do you prefer the screwhead or plain one better?

You don’t need to use the fancy, expensive heads. My friends and I use the plain, everyday dart head. They can be poured with any size hook you want

Both.  Sometimes the screwhead is the ticket.  Sometimes its just not necessary.

I favor a 90*eye

Picasso smartmouth (gamakatsu hook)

okashira

zman finnesse eyes great head, but the wire keeper can cause you to go through more baits

Owner Darter head

Keitech super rounds were basically made for these. 1/8oz comes in 1/0, 2/0, and 3/0. I go 2/0 or 3/0 for the 4", and have been liking the 3.5" with the 1/0 lately as well.

Several good suggestions. I prefer the stacked-cone type head like the Guppy, Nishine or Fusion jigheads. They don't seem to tear the soft plastic as much as barbed-type heads. I will add one more, the unpainted Gamakatsu stacked cone jighead, which is cheaper than most of the above-listed jigheads. To save some money, you can still recycle some of the torn plastics from these jigheads by putting them on another jighead that has a large barb.
