Who makes the best nets?

I'm looking for a net I can use for bass that will be permanently in my new Ranger.  It seems that the only really nice nets I've seen are for trout.  Does anyone make a nice quality net for bass?

www.tackletour.com evaluated a stowaway net made by SPRO.  TackleTour rated the net very favorably.  BUT, its MSRP is $79.00.

I use a Promar net. It doesnt fold up or store real well, but then again when its time for the net, I don't want to dig it out of storage and unfold it, I want to pick it up off the floor and stick it in the water.

I HIGHLY recommend that you buy a rubber net:  The Great Net from BPS, $42.99.

I use a good trout net. It is small easy to store and handle. I have netted 10 lb hybrids with it. JMHO

I think Frabill makes a good net.  I think they have the rubber ones too.

I have heard good things about the rubber nets.  I may have to try one.

Rubber nets are the way to go.

Here are the benefits of a rubber net:

1. Minimal impact on the fish.

2. Lures rarely (never) get hooked-up in the net.

2. The net never tangles up on itself, it is always good to go.

I would recommend Ego Nets.

They have both Nylon mesh and Rubber mesh. The best thing about their rubber mesh nets is the rubber stretches up to 2x with load therefore helping to eliminate the bounce effect. The large size has a 19"x21" hoop opening and a 36" handle. I've put up to 7 lb largemouth in the Medium 17"x19" hoop / 30" handle. www.adventureproducts.com

Well I just picked up a new SPRO net on Ebay for $23.  :)  Let's see what it looks like, it may become a good back up net.

Many people like the rubber nets for the reasons listed above but I have heard complaints of them not moving thru water very well because of heavy resistance to the water. Requires a stabbing type of movement instead of a sweeping motion to net fish. I do not own a rubber net just repeating what I have been told.......................Al
