FG & SC Knot Difficulties.... Daiichi Knot Assist 2.0 To The Rescue!

Featured Replies

I'm prepping for next season and wanted to become proficient in tying a strong braid to leader knot. I'm embarrassed to admit that even the SC knot defeated me. My hands, damaged from years of manual labor weren't up to the task. I spent several hours but wasn't successful.  I then dug out my Daiichi Knot Assist 2.0 which I never used and tried the FG knot. Success!!! I tried it again just by memory and success again. I've had the Knot Assist for several years and don't remember what I paid for it but whatever it was, it was worth it.

Not to get ahead of myself with my first time success. I'm going to keep practicing. I really hate when I can't do something or have a lot of trouble doing a task.

I’m glad you got it down pat!

My leader tying days are in the rear view and I couldn’t be happier about it. When I first started working as a fly fishing guide a thousand years ago, my boss said just sit there and practice knots while you are watching TV at night, it worked pretty well. All these years later, I don’t have TV and I don’t tie leaders 😂
