So, I really need a deep crankin rod and I cannot decide which to get. I have my choices narrowed to 2.

#1-  St Croix Premier series 7 ft fiberglass rod Medium-heavy/moderate action

#2- Lamiglas SR 705R Skeet Reese 7 ft Medium Heavy(The yellow rod)

Of these two, which would you guys buy................OF THESE TWO.

By the way, the Lamiglas is on sale @ tackle warehouse for 159.95, the St. Croix is 100.00 at BPS.

I haven't used the SR series, but I love Lamiglas. I don't think they get the recognition that they deserve.

Lamiglas SR all the way. The Premier series St. Croix are not even in the ball park.  JMHO

I love St. Croix, but my rods start with the Avid series.  I agree that Lamiglass deifnitly builds great rods and does not get the props it should.

I suspect that is because of the name "Lamiglass"  makes people think they are getting a glass rod and not grahite.

Two things come to mind.  

first is the price points are not comparable.

Second is are you man enough to fish with a yellow rod  

I fully agree, so it looks like the lamiglas by a landslide.  If it were the Avid you were comparing, it would be a lot closer

I have promoted the Lamiglas SR705R on a number of threads. It is the perfect rod for BIG treble hook lures and deep divers. I consider this rod to be very technique specific and I don't use it very often, but it is the only rod I use to fish LC Pointer 128, Staysee, Super Spooks, DD22, Mann's 20+ & 25+.

The SR705R is a work of art. Design, engineering, all components and the craftmanship are top knotch. I think you will find this rod to be everything you are looking for in deep crankin stick. I have mine matched with a Shimano CTE200GT.

BTW, The rod is rated Heavy Power/ Slow Action.

I have been doing a lot of builds on Lamiglas blanks lately. A light wt. flyrod, inshore saltwater stick, MH cranking stick and a 10' surf rod. The quality is very impressive. JMHO
