Daiwa Spinning Reel Drag Adjustment Too Fine

Featured Replies

With both Daiwa spinning reels I have (Fuego and Tatula LT) the drag adjustment is too fine. It takes multiple full rotations of loosing the drag just to be able to pull off some line by hand. On the Fuego I have to loosen it to the point of almost coming off just to be able to hand pull some line. On the other hand, all my other brands of spinning reels it only takes one or two rotations to be able to get it loose enough to hand pull line. Anyone else notice this? It it just a Daiwa thing?

I have a Diawa Revros spin reel that has the same type of drag. Most folks would consider it a good thing. More adjustable drag.

I like the 'longer' turning to adjust the drag - keeps me from doing what Mike said...zero to full almost instantly.

Finer tuning is a good thing. I would add though, always back off your drag when done fishing so it doesn't freeze/lock up.

Or if you got oil/felt washers - so you don't crush them permanently and end up with no drag.
