Guys, I'm considering purchasing a NRX+ 842C MBR as an "all purpose" rod.  I have a Mojo Bass 71 MHF that I just purchased that I can use for heavier stuff.  Those of you that have this rod how do you like it?  The other option is a 903C MBR which I have heard is a great rod just a little to long for my personal preference, but if it's a better "all around rod" please let me know.  Thanks again to @FishTank for all his advice!!

I wouldn't use a 2 power Loomis as a All purpose rod. The 843 would be a better choice in my opinion.

I agree 843C would be better for more all purpose I have a couple of them(NRX+ and Conquest) and use them alot TX rigs, 3/8 chatterbaits/spinnerbaits/jigs, and 4" and below paddle tails.  What are you planning on throwing on it?  I've been thinking of getting a 842C myself but haven't been able to really justify it since I have a 852C.

The 843 is a better choice for an all purpose rod.  The 842 is fantastic for light t-rigs and such.  But the 843 is the better all purpose rod.

You'll love that 843. You already made your choice but I'll still add in my .02. I have the 842 and 903 and it depends what "all purpose" means to someone. The 842 is a great all-purpose finesse baitcaster for things like tubes, drop shots, 1/8oz+ Neds, shaky heads, 2.8-3.3 Keitechs, shaky heads, micro/finesse jigs, etc and the 903/843 is a great all-purpose rod for jigs, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, t-tigs, etc. Enjoy your new rod!
