Lake Software for PC

Featured Replies

I'd like to find a lake map program for my desktop computer, with good topo detail, allowing latitude and longitude to be shown wherever the cursor rests. There seems to be lots of low grade stuff online. Lakemaster used to have this, but it seems after it was absorbed into Johnson Outdoors, it's all about Humminbird equipment and on the water. Any suggestions?

ContourElite is the product that uses Lakemaster data.  It was discontinued by Humminbird.  There are a few copies for sale on eBay.  I don't know if you can find the region you are interested in.   I use the Humminbird One-BoatNetwork app on my iPad daily( if not hourly)  ^_^.  It’s pretty good and works on smart phones as well.

Poke around on this deal a little and see what you think.

I use this one a bunch and it's free.

I have Contour Elite btw.

Haven't used it since this came out.

Thanks for that, I've been using navionics free but this is as good or better. I'm on Mobile currently so maybe overlooking features, but do you just manually add waypoints to your hummingbird based on gps coordinates from this, or is there an easier way? I'm still learning my technology. Thanks!

While that's one way to use it.

I'll admit that I'm not the most tech savvy user either,

but I'm not looking to be quite that precise as far as spots or waypoints are concerned.

I'm looking at it as more of a way to locate areas to check when I get there.

Experience on the water enables me to take it from there.

Thanks Guys,

I found the Lakemaster ContourElite software for Wisconsin on Ebay. Not sure if I can zero in to lat, longitude for spots, we'll see. :-)

I have Contour Elite but never use it.   It works well but the interface is ugly and poorly designed.  Hope it meets your needs.

I bought a Lakemaster Contour Elite program on ebay. After installing on my PC, the activation failed. Apparently the internet connection for this is no longer available. Johnson Outdoors says the product "is no longer supported" I'm sure there's a registry hack or some other workaround, but I'm not sure I can manage...

Another reason I avoid Evil-Bay as much as possible - out of date stuff being sold as current.

You can find gems there - like the new, replacement Alumacraft stickers I got that were an exact match for the originals put on in 1972 as the one's on it were chewed up.
