Flourocarbon

Featured Replies

Is anyone using flourocarbon for pitching and punching? I'm thinking about trying the FC Sniper 20#

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Pitching, yes. Around wood, rocks, submerged grass. Usually 16# Sniper.

But for punching it's 100% braid. I want that power to drive those big hooks home and quickly get that head turned towards me. You wanna be able to man-handle that fish in those thick veggies, and braid is much better at doing so than any other line.

Also, the braid will "saw" through the grass while fighting the fish. Fluoro, not so much.

Thank you. That was the answer I was looking for.

I also use Sniper to pitch certain things as I use flouro for most everything.
But when punching in certain conditions I use 20# Shooter where braid isn’t needed as much (60# & 80#).
It’s more abrasion resistant than Sniper, but let your conditions dictate that.
