Bass Pro Shops Extreme........on sale right now for $69.......light, sensitive, and tough. Also for a little bit less the Bass Pro Shops Bionic Blade , also on sale now for $59. These rods normaly go for $100, and $80 respectivly. I don't know if they are the best rods in there class, but I have a bunch of them and love em'. And in my opinion are better than the other brands of rods I used to fish in that price range.

I agree, I have both and are good rods. If you decide to spend a little more than the Johnny Morris Signature Series at $119 is an excellent rod.

Have not tried the Johnny Morris Elite rods YET. ;D

See the problem is I have a giftcard to BPS and one to Dicks Sporting Goods, and i am wanting to buy a fly outfit and  new spinning rod.  But being as all the dicks ive went to lately dont have much of a fly fishing selection, i might have to use the BPS giftcard for the fly outfit.  Leaving me with the giftcard to Dicks for the spinning rod, who unfortunately doesnt sale the Extremes. Or else i wouldnt even think twice and get the Extreme.  So a few more suggestions of rods that arent BPS brand would be much appreciated. I have seen a few St. Croixs and a few All Stars in Dicks in my price range.

I have seen a few St. Croixs and a few All Stars in Dicks in my price range.

Two excellent brands and both offer great rods in the respective price points.  (I would have suggested either if you hadn't already mentioned them)

For $89.99 you can buy a Shimano Compre.  I'm a huge fan of these rods, and always recommend these rods when anglers want a rod for under a $100.  The Compre's are quite a bit lighter than the Extreme's, and have a lifetime over-the-counter replacement warranty.  I fished with Compre's before I took the plunge into Loomis.

The_Natural is right... if you spend a few bucks more than the original budget, the Compre is a good choice.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I went to Dicks Sporting Goods this afternoon, and they had a St. Croix Triumph 6'6" ML for 60 bucks. It seemed like a nice rod, for what i want to do with it, so I got it.  Anyone ever had any experince with these?

St croix triumph at dicks. Great rod, i have one. Medium action, fast action. Love it.
