Whats the best reel I can get for under $100. I was thinking about the revo s.

That looks like a great reel I also like the Cabela's ZX Tournament Reel 79.99 and The BPS Etreme Reels same price range They are all aluminum, have good rotation on the spool, 8 BBS and good breaking systems for the money

Now I havent actually used the Revo, but Ive been looking at one myself and have been very impressed, so thats all i can say about it.

I would go with the BPS extreme as well. They are actually on sale online for 50 bucks!  I plan on getting a couple more.

I've got a Pflueger Trion which runs $99. I like it, and used it extensively all last year. A number of other manufacturer's have comparable, and maybe better, reels in the $75-$100 range. Once you start getting in the $50 to $70 range you will notice a decrease in "fishability"--but many of these reels are OK too for most applications.

Go for the Revo!  Sure it's unproven, but hey, live life on the edge  :D.  The one I played with at Cabelas felt nice, and it is one sharp looking reel!

Yeah, I'd go with the revo s. I am looking to get one friday at the boat/fishing show we have here.

I have a Revo S.  Had it a few months now and have fished it a lot.  All I can say is it is a smooth, well behaved reel that is well worth $99.  You can use it for anything, it has an incredible drag and will hold plenty of line.  It's actually very light for what it is... I think only the TD-Z BBS is lighter in a true heavy duty low profile reel.  I am more impressed with the revo than I am with my BBS - watch the flea market, it may be for sale in a few weeks.

Back to the revo, it's built like a tank but handles like a jewel.

I'll make you a deal, buy the Revo S and if you don't like it, PM me and I will buy it from you.

If you look around online or wait for the BPS Spring Classic, you can find a Shimano Citica for 100. I have one and it is a solid reel. I don't use it anymore since I upgraded to Magnesium reels. I have the 200...seems a little big for bass but I believe the 100 series is now available.  I do not have experience with any other baitcasters in that price range, therefore, I cannot give a comparison. I am actually looking to sell this one. PM me if interested.

i have three of the bass pro shop extreme reels and i'm very pleased with them. :D i've owned just about every brand reel out there in 45 years of fishing a lot of it depends on what feels good to you, go somewhere where you can put it on a rod and see how it feels, some shops will spool it for you so you can try it out before you buy, i used to do that at the shop i worked at but there is not many of those left anymore. good luck.....Danny
