I did use that brand back then. I'll have to search some and see if I can find what they used to have.

No - just a regular variation of a curly tail or ribbon tail worm depending on your perspective. Rebel is typically credited as the company that created the ringworm back around 1975. They came in both straight tail and curly tail, but it was the pronounced “rings” on the body that gave it its name.

 

 

For the sake of history Rebel Ring worm wasn’t the 1st “ring” worm but best known brand.

My In-Fisherman article A Rare Chance for a World Record Jan 1985* on page 7 there is a photo of the Action worm dates back into the early 1970. Very complex tooling with rings and loops to trace air and  sound. The Action worm is lost in the mist of history.

Good point. Terry tackled that one and he believed it was basically a tie, both introduced the same year. 
 

Action Worm or Ring worm?

 

LOl, I they were the 1st ones I thought of.  They werent a WalMart brand because they were sold locally around here and k mart carried them as well.  They made a smaller finesse worm and a larger 6.5 or 7" worm.  Caught lots of fish on the little ones in tequila sunrise on a light jighead.  

Well, I finally bought some of the US Bait Co 3.5" screamers. They are much smaller than the old Rattlesnake worms. Body diameter is much smaller and weight is much lighter than I remember.
