It’s going to be bad.  Just talked to my sister in law and they live on Cresent Beach on the eastern side of the state and they are now under an evacuation order.

My buddy fled Fort Myers yesterday and is staying at my house for the time being,

As they say, hindsight is 20/20. I didn’t go to FL because of the hurricanes and instead went to Fork in Texas. But as I suspected, there’s a Bassmaster kayak event in Florida this year.

I’m not sure if I’m going to enter, but the venue is the Kissimmee Chain:

Kissimmee

Cypress

Hatchineha

Rosalie

Tiger

Marion

Marian

Arbuckle

Jackson

Toho

East Toho

Gentry

Weohyakapka

Toho is a bucket list lake, but I don’t know if it’s the smart play as it will probably have a ton of traffic on that first February weekend.

If I go, I might hit the smaller lakes so I can cover different structure and depths easily. There’s only a 50/50 chance I am heading there as I may be changing jobs soon.

Taking the glitter sled and going to Headwaters the first week of February.

Jackson is pretty remote, especially the parking. I fished it once probably 20 years ago and was worried about my truck being broke into the entire time.  It get very little fishing pressure from what I could tell.

Lake Marion in Keenensville is tough to figure out but I did catch my personal best on a trap there in February 😉

Gentry is a waste of time. Jackson is a good lake but it is out in the middle of nowhere and like SC53 said you will worry about your stuff. For me I would go to Toho or Cypress. Less traffic than Kissimmee. Also don't count out East Lake Toho. The residential canals fish great this time of year. Good luck. I"ll be at Headwaters.....

I wanna come!

Cypress, Toho and Kissimmee would be your best bets on the chain.

Not a long paddle to productive water. Kissimmee you’ll want to go out of Overstreet Landing. That’ll put you right by north cove.

East Lake Toho is easy access as well.
I don’t know if there is access along Tiger except from Kissimmee itself. And that’s a long paddle.

Like @crypt said, Gentry isn’t worth the trip.

The more the merrier.😂. I lucked out and got a week at the horse farm apartment 5 miles from the ramp.  We normally stay at the facility on Blue Cypress but it’s a long drive and the boat parking is tough.
