Need advice - Have a MH 71 BC rod and want to buy another versatile BC rod

Featured Replies

Guys, like my subject says, I already own a 71MHF BC rod and want to buy another versatile rod.  I tend to throw a lot of bucktail/lighter baits so I am thinking of maybe a MF 70 rod.  Thoughts????

I love my Okuma TCS-A in 7’-0” medium plus. Recommended by @MiceNReets and was reviewed on this site, a sweet rod for sure.

I think you are on the right path.  There are quite a few 7'-7'2" MF rods that should be suitable.  A budget will (hopefully) cut down on the number of recommendations.  :)

I should have added the Okuma I referenced above is marked as a moderate fast not a fast although they do have a 7’-0” medium fast. I will also add it is a very versatile rod with enough backbone for single hooked baits but enough “give” for treble hooked baits as well.

ALX Zolo Dream is a great all round rod.
