revo vs. curado

Featured Replies

I'm thinking about gettin a new reel under $250.  I have had Garcia's mess up but it was only the pall and worm gear and the revo stx has a stronger worm gear, but i love shimano. Any ideas?

I haven't heard of a single purchaser who didn't like the revo.

The Revo has an external brake and the curado internal so if thats an issue keep it in mind.

Pick the one you like the feel of best.

The revo seems to be a pretty good reel, but with no proven track record.  The curado has been a solid, top of the line reel for several years.  There is a reason those used "old green" curados still sell for like new prices.  The revo's are PROBABLY good reels, but you know for a fact that curado's are.

Well you will have to admit Garcia and shimano are really the only reels  anyway!

If you have already had a bad experience with Abu Garcias, why are you considering them again?

Maybe because everyone's been raving about the Revos? :(

I have my Curado 101D and like it a lot, but I'm gonna get an STX this weekend.  I anticipate being equally impressed after hearing the reviews.
