Also on the Motorguide, I have paths stored in the remote. I just hit a button and it takes me to a waypoint/route. It's not 100% but it's pretty close. You also have a the nice feature of going in a straight line despite wind and current. I use this feature all the time as well. Quote

Not sure how they are setup but they are moving faster than me. It will, of course, depend on which size Newport they are using- the 1 hp or 3 hp version. The 3 hp (NK300) is a 36V motor and it will push a yak over 6 mph, easily (I have one on order to go with my new Big Rig FD.) The 1 hp is comparable to the Torqeedo 403, I believe, and that pushes my heavy loaded Coosa FD at 4.5 -4.7 mph. Newport uses off the shelf batteries but Torqeedo uses their own proprietary battery with a weird Voltage (German made)- 27V or something). 1 Quote

I'm guessing that would be around $400-$700 for just the battery but it would be cool to get over 4.5mph. Quote

I got mine for about $350 for a 50 aHr 36 V battery (LiTime brand). litime.com/products/litime-36v-50ah-trolling-motor-lithium-battery Quote

Just in case, that's where I got my 12v 100ahr as well. I got it for around $200. It's been great so far. I also got a battery box. I just hook it up and go. I can run the Xi3 for 2 plus days on the water before I need to recharge it. Quote
