Bassmaster 2022 video game?

Featured Replies

I wasn't sure where to place this thread.

Has anyone played this game? I'm a gamer, and a diehard bass angler (hence why I'm on these forums). Every fishing game I've ever played has been bad. I'm wondering if this one is any good? It looks very nice, but for $45 I'm trying to find actual people who have played the game rather than online reviews which are often made by bots. This could be an easier winter to get through. Thanks.

The only 2 decent fishing games are Fishing Planet which is free to play with in game stuff you can get or The Angler the Call of The Wild. The bass master game sucks. As do the euro fishing games.Ive been playing video games since the SNES era lol. I highly recommend Fishing Planet. The graphics are decent, the mechanics are the closest to real life of any game I’ve played. Tons of different techniques, baits etc to use, even has boats and kayaks with 2d graphs for in game use. It’s definitely a little grindy if you don’t buy any of the packs but most free to play games are. Think world of tank or the ea online games with card packs.

Get FFS,just like playing the game and you have a chance of actually catching a fish.

Good idea. I'll just go outside and pluck a pound of $100 bills off the tree and then go chop up all the ice on local lakes.

I've liked the games for the Wii/Wii-U for fishing. Not so realistic but I like the under water imagery.

I recently came across my copy of Trophy Bass 2 from around the mid 1990s. Havent had a minute to load it up on the computer but I remember playing that for hours when I was younger.

I’m not much for winter fishing, so every  year about this time,  I look for a new Bass fishing focused game to play off-season. I tried Bassmaster 2022 its ok, graphics are nice, the actual fishing gameplay  is IMHO not great.

Despite being over two decades old and VERY dated graphics, I  still regard “Field & Stream:  Trophy Bass 4 “ (TB4, PC game 2000, Sierra/ Dynamix )as a high point in bass fishing simulations due to its fishing gameplay quality. TB4 was the last game in the “ Trophy Bass” Series of games. Highlights for me are the fish AI behavior,  the physics of  casting, lure behavior, translucent  water, fish fight realistically, and  the adjusting  environmental conditions that actually influence fish locations and behavior and more. Get TB4 on eBay,  playable for me on Win 7 and 10 64 bit.

Sega Bass Fishing 2 is the only game i like, haven't played in years......

It was worth it when it was on xbox game pass but now that you have to shell out the money it's not really worth it anymore. BPS The Strike was my jam like 15 years ago even with the janky controls, but if the urge to play a fishing game ever hits me I'll play the original Sega Bass Fishing.

I would absolutely love a realistic bass fishing game.

I play the Sega Bass Fishing every once in awhile, but alas, its arcade like.

Really itching for April...

It’s very similar to Fishing Sim World (I think that’s the title) from the same publisher. There’s definitely far worse fishing games, but it leaves much to be desired.

If you fish obvious places that you would in real life like main lake points, you’re pretty much guaranteed a ten pounder in a short period of time. But it seems not every player has figured this out as I’ve used this tactic to win some online tournaments.

I like Sega Bass Fishing too. It’s lot of fun in a group.   The animations are very good especially the lure-actions and the way bass inhale lures. The developers must have studied  a lot of underwater film. I never tried the Sega  “Fish controller” but  heard it adds  a lot to the gameplay.

But in terms of simulation, “Trophy Bass 4” while far from perfect, seems to check-off most of the  boxes for me.     I like the realistic AI behaviors tied to environmental factors (weather, season, water clarity/temperature, time of day, wind, depth). It has more of the hunt in bass that I enjoy.

I recently looked at “ Russian Fishing 4” which is touted as the most realistic fishing game currently available, but in terms of bass it is definitely not. RF4  is more of role-playing fishing game with  simulation elements and excellent graphics. Not surprisingly it’s geared more toward Euro style match fishing.  I thought Carp was especially well done. One Flathead catfish I caught fought very realistically .

It's not good. I like The Strike game from Bass pro. At least that game you can see the action on your lure. In the bassmaster game your lure is not even animated.
