Is the Shimano Antares dc 2021 better than the Shimano metanium dc 2024

Featured Replies

Hey wondering if the Shimano Antares dc 2021  is better than the metanium dc 2024 I currently got the metanium dc but wanna know if the Antares dc is better I only Throw lures under 1oz i don’t really throw 1oz lures but that’s what my rod can handle. But anyways I’m only considering the Antares dc 21 cause it has a little bit more spool capacity. But I just wanna know if it’s better than the metanium for casting /distance wise for lures under 1oz. And if it’s not I’ll just keep the metanium

Personally would take a metanium over anything Anteres. They're way too heavy and bulky for a bass reel.

The regular Antares is smaller than the Met. The Antares DC is just slightly bigger. They are both 7.8 ounces so a little heavy.

I have both the regular Antares A and the 2020 Met. For everyday use, I would go with the Met and for a pleasure reel (one you are adding to a collection) I would go with the Antares.  Both reels have been great for me but I get the feeling the Antares, like the older models I have, will last forever.

Also, if you are looking for a new DC reel, I would get the Metanium DC. The braking system seems a lot easier to use.
