I was just wondering how well these reels perform and hold up.  I plan on going to BPS this weekend and I have been narrowing down my choices on what reel I want.  I use shimano now and I have had great service from them.  I have no real reason why I want to try something else other than the fact that I just want to see what else is out there,  I like the look of the zillion and thought maybe I might try it.  It's down to it or a Chronarch 100B.  More than likely I will stay with shimano unless I get some really great feed back on the zillion.  

I'm a "daiwa" guy.  I can tell you that if your used to Shimano you may not be as pleased with a daiwa.

Of course each company has a variety of price points, but assuming equivalent costs, the Shimano's have a different 'feel" than Daiwa's.  Shimano's have a smooth ride, like a cadillac.  While the Daiwa's have a precision ride, like a BMW.  Both are excellent.  You may like the "feeling the road" with the Daiwa.  I do.  I think it's more communicative.  

But Shimano on the other hand........................

I have a calcutta and now I have the new daiwa zillion 7.1. I love the feel and how it cast. Now I won't put my zillion down for any other reel. Go get the zillion and you won't regret it.

Same here, I haven't fished with mine yet but it casts better & easier than most of my reels.

I have been looking at that zillion as well- what a gorgeous looking reel- can't go wrong with shimano or daiwa.  I am like you I own all shimano's but the zillion intrigues me.

they are a sweet reel .... im a shimano guy ,,, big time all my reels are shimanos ... well except the zillion i just baught tonight ....  ;D 8-)

Jetsprint2 get the zillion and you will say shimano what is a shimano.

I have been a diehard Shimano guy most of my life.  I have to say that my recent Daiwa purchases have really swayed me to them.  The reels feel much more precise, cast farther it seems and are less susceptable to backlashing.  

The Zillion reels are awesome.  The Steez baitcasters are with out a doubt the best exotic reels out there.
