In my 60s and stage 5 kidney failure. My biggest concession is that I now think twice about buying anything new.

The other concession is how often I get out. In addition to kidney failure I have arthritis in most of my joints and I have re-torn the labrum in both of my shoulders. Some weekends the pain is too much but most of the time I can suck it up and get out there.

Anything becomes normal after a while.

You inspire me sir.

I'm so glad you've got so much grit. If Rooster Cogburn had true grit, you've the truest grit. Even Rooster would agree:

You can probably tell that you're one of my favorite posters at BR. I love the way you fish, where you fish, and your gin clear love of fishing.

Thanks @Swamp Girl and @A-Jay you all both keep me motivated with all your great posts of big numbers of huge fish. I am just trying to keep up with you all!

You catch river smallies, which will always be leaner than lake smallies and bog largies. Numbers-wise, we're neck and neck!

I suffer from some arthritis and Raynaud's Syndrome. The medications I take exacerbate the Raynaud's. Consequently, tying knots is challenging. I found a product that makes knot tying incredibly easy. They are pricey for what they are. I'm going to modify some upholstery needles and they should work just as well for a lot less money. I'll grind or cut the point of the needle off and then round it off. I'll then dip most of the needle in some PlastiDip. Done. Easy peasy for a lot less loot.
